Halloween at Fort Independence
Join us for Boston’s favorite FREE Halloween event, perfect for kids of all ages! The fort will transform into a Halloween fun fest on Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25, from 12:00 to 4:00 PM. We can’t wait to celebrate this spooky season with you!

Here’s what you can expect:
We’re excited to invite you to the Children’s Magical Halloween Castle in 2026, nestled within the historic fort walls! Last October was such a delightful experience, and we can’t wait to welcome kids of all ages dressed in their favorite Halloween costumes. We look forward to seeing all your creative and imaginative outfits!
When you arrive at the Fort Entrance, you’ll be guided into a cozy room where our storyteller will share some enchanting tales. Nearby, our talented face painters will be excited to add some fun designs to your faces. Once you’re ready, we invite you to explore the next area of our Halloween event. We think you’ll find it to be a fun and exciting adventure!
You’ll have the chance to visit eight colorful rooms, each with its own cheerful Halloween theme! As you walk through, you’ll see lovely decorations that celebrate the Fall season. From Cinderella and her friends to friendly and spooky monsters, there’s something for everyone to enjoy! We hope you have a fantastic time exploring the magic and creativity in each room!
